  3. Location • Capital City: Madrid • Population: 47,265,000 • It is located on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. • Its mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea.

Culture of Spain The culture of Spain is a European culture based on a variety of historical influences, primarily that of Ancient Rome, Iberian culture, Phoenicians and of the Arabs 781 years (711 AD to 1492 AD). (Segovia Aqueduct)  There have been many influences on many aspects of Spanish life, from art and architecture to cuisine and music, from many countries across Europe and from around the Mediterranean.
