Work Package 6 - Current best practicesKick-off-Meeting July 15-17/2009 Salzburg / AT Current best practices A standardized curriculum has to be based on the current best practices, to minimize the efforts on introduction with respect to economy and practicability. The acceptance among the community will be the better the more it implements also well proven contents. So the existing systems have to be analysed and evaluated as careful as possible and implemented if possible. There will be an assessment of current best practice with respect to  Tactics,  Communication and networking (Emergency database, GIS-using, Information Management,…)  Protection.

Work Package 6 - Current best practicesKick-off-Meeting July 15-17/2009 Salzburg / AT TACTICS – COMMUNICATION - PROTECTION Examples: • Provide shelter / Stay put • Care of the population (evacuation,…) • Public Information, • Decontamination, • Measures to Health protection / vaccinations, • Search end rescue, • Clearing Roads, • Fire Fighting, • Detection and Identification of hazardous material, • Leadership organization, • CBRN protection, • Planning measures, • Exercises.

  5. Partners involved in WP 6 • „Planning Meeting WP 6“ in Hamburg on Wednesday 23rd Sept. (before the INTERCON 24-26 Sept.),  we recommend participation at the Intercon !!! • Who has ideas for WP6 ??  Search and Exchange of ideas and information at the Planning Meeting • Detailed planning will begin in August • Work Package 6 builds up on the results of other work packages, so the effective start of the work will be in Dezember 2009.

Participation in other WP (1,2,3,4,5,8,9,10) • Thank you for your basic information, • For planning we need more and detailed information, so we could not answer every WP-leaders‘ questions. • We hope to get these information here at the Kick-off-Meeting and the days after. • Research methodology and equipments in the project: • interviews, questionaire, • experiences from the experts in Hamburg (Fire and Rescue Service) • analysis of reports and best practises in our every day duty, • analysis of reports and results from congresses and exercises (e.g. Interschutz, Intercon,…) • Mr. Petter will stay in Salzburg till Sunday (for detailed discussion).  Don´t hesitate to contact our team-members during the kick-off-meeting
