  1. WNPS Logos • This PowerPoint file contains various graphic displays of native plant society logos. The idea is that you can save them as JPG (or other graphics format) files and then use them elsewhere. • To save a logo as JPG: under the “File” tab, you need to use the “SAVE AS” feature and save as JPG. • DO NOT use the “Save as Picture” feature; it does not provide high enough resolution. • When you do a Save As” be sure to save only the current slide. The resulting file will be a jpg file of the logo on that slide. This is the reason that each logo is on its own slide. • You need to insure that you are exporting the files at 300 DPI. Google “PowerPoint 300 DPI” to see how to do that. • Why create the PowerPoint file? Why not just provide jpg files? The PowerPoint file allows you to use a commonly available product to manipulate the logo, add text, etc. You could create and manipulate the logo using a graphics tool, but then other users might not be able to modify the logo if necessary. • I do use the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) to resize logos once they are in jpg format. • I have made a jpg file for each page so that you can simply use them that way if you want. These JPG files can be found in the plantsteward.com document catalog under the keyword “logo”
