What is Session Plan? • A set of notes (detail) of a session in logical order for trainer. • A systematic structure of teaching/ learning activities • A checklist of the resources required conducting a session. • A kind of road- map guiding the total process of a trainer activities of the session. • A Session Manual for trainer.

  9. Session plan • It provides specific definition and direction on learning objectives, equipment, instructional material requirements, and the process conduct of the training.

  10. What to consider when designing a Session • Know your trainees(background) • Know the content • Know the materials • Ability & interest levels • Prior knowledge and learning experiences

Importance of session Plan • Builds confidence of trainer • Develops more understandingon session plan • Provides guidelines for learning activities • Clarifies roles of trainers and learners • Reminds time frame • Prevents from deviation irrelevant subject matter • Helps for effective facilitation

  16. Process • Prepare materials and plan the methods • Develop session structure • Check and assess then revise the session plan(if any) • Trainer/facilitator must understand the implications of each step(sequence) of a session plan. • Prepare and check audio- visual aids( in time )

  17. Process contd. • Effective time management is necessary while taking session. • All the steps of the session plan must be completed within given time. • Check before the session that equipment and other training aids are rightly placed and are in order.

  18. Process contd. • Check whether each learning step leads learning objectives. • If there is hesitation on conducting session, rehearse the session plan once or twice in a closed room. • Use various trainer skills so that the session plan could be implemented effectively.

  19. Process contd. • Modify the session plan, ( if necessary or on the basis of feedback from the learners) • Keep the session plan for the future use. • Try to develop the session plan on one page of a paper.
