  3. Example: How To Make A Cheese Omelet First, crack an egg into a bowl like this. Then, whisk the egg with a fork until it is smooth. See, it is smooth now. After that, add some milk and whisk well. Grate the cheese into a bowl and stir. Now, heat the oil in the frying pan, and pour the mixture into the frying pan. Then, turn the omelet with a spatula when it browns. See, like this. Okay, next cook both sides. After the omelet is done, place it on a plate, don’t forget to season it with salt and pepper. Well you can eat it while it is warm. It’s easy, isn’t it?

Usage of Would you like...../mind....../please....? • The expression of “ Would you like ....?” is normally used for offering something to someone. • Pattern : Would you like + to infinitive ....? • Offering to someone: * Would you like to stay or go? * Would you like to go with me? • Declining an offer : * No, thanks. * No, I really won’t, thank you * Not for me, thanks * No, thanks. I’m not hungry. • Accepting an offer : * Thank you * Yes, please * I’d like it very much * Thank you, I would. * That would be very nice

  5. The expession of “Would you mind .....?” and “Would you please ....?” is normally used for asking people to do things. • Pattern : Would you mind + Ving + O + C ........? Ex : - Would you mind calling the doctor? - Would you mind giving me a push? - Would you mind lending me some money? • Pattern : Would you please + bare infinitive + O + C .............. ? Ex : - Would you please clean the blackboard? - Would you please open the door? - Woud you please turn the AC on? • Decline : - No, I won’t - No, I can’t - No ! - I’m afraid I can’t • Accept : - Sure - Of course, I can - Yes, certainly

  6. Expression of Command • This expression is use for how do you tell (command) someone to do something. Ex: • Come here! * Go away! * Be quiet! • Please come here. * Go away, please! • Shut the door, will you? * Clean the shoes! • Open the window, will you? * Eat quickly! • Decline : * No * No, I won’t * Why should I? * Must I ? * Do I have to ? • Accept : * Yes * All right * OK * As you wish * Yes, (of course/certainly)
