  3. Maintenance and Reliability Concepts • Organizations interested in reducing maintenance costs must first understand what is driving maintenance expenses • A reliability program will evaluate failures and drive the development of solutions • This information comes from bad actor data collected in Oracle eAM • Solutions implemented through adjustment of existing maintenance strategies in Oracle eAM such as Activities and Preventive MaintenanceSchedules

  4. What is a Bad Actor! Bad Actors are typically the top 10% of the most problematic systems and equipment in the facility or plant

  5. Finding Bad Actors with Oracle eAM • Companies should focus maintenance dollars on bad actors • Information is obtained from Oracle eAM • Parameters • High Number of Repair and emergency Work Orders • High Maintenance Cost • High Maintenance Man-hours

  6. Implement Solutions • Typical Solutions • PM Schedule Update • PdM Update (meters) • Equipment modification • Operational Change • Different spare parts or source (BOM) • Documentation • Work Order History • Equipment Procedures (Attachments)

  7. Using Oracle eAM • Failure Analysis Functionality • Became Available in Release 12 and back ported to 11.5.10.3 • Develop Failure Codes and Sets • Begin Tracking Failures with Work Orders • Use the Operational Log
