    4. Distance Learning Vision Online learning is a delivery medium that increases student access to courses and degrees and assists the institution by increasing enrollment without increasing demand for classroom space. It enhances the overall effectiveness and quality of OCC’s educational programs. Distance Learning helps faculty provide high quality online learning experiences for students. Courses are built on the 4 cornerstones of quality for online instruction, appropriately selected pedagogy, and the educational technologies that support students’ achievement of course objectives and program outcomes. All matriculated OCC students take at least one online course, thereby increasing active learning skills, computer literacy and employment competencies.

    5. Distance Learning Premises DL is an entrepreneurial approach to education, providing student centered courses and degrees online (Garrison, et al, 1999). DL provides students with increased access to OCC. DL provides leadership and staffing for Virtual OCC. DL provides professional development & support for faculty. DL advocates for students who participate in online learning. DL provides oversight for the quality of online learning. The Planned Growth Model establishes priorities for new online programs, and new online courses/sections. OCC will remain an SLN campus.
