  1. TEAM 1 STUDY OF THE DRAINAGE NETWORK OF AN URBAN CATCHMENT FIRST REPORT LA RIERETA, SANT BOI DE LLOBREGAT SPAIN TEAM 1: ANA CAROLINE PITZER JACOB JAIME TORRICO ACHA JONATAN ROBERTO VANESA LUCANA BARRAL Thursday, july 14th 2011

  2. TEAM 1 OBJECTIVES Discretizationof the basin (physical parameters); Determination of hydraulic parameters of the basin; Determination of effective rainfall; Calibration and validation of hydrological-hydraulic model of Riereta basin; Modeling with the design rain and diagnosis of hydraulic operation according to the results; Changes and/or alterations of drainage network in accordance with operational hydraulics criteria, maintaining the current network.

  3. TEAM 1 Basin Characterists Urban basin 16,07 ha Highly impervious area

  4. TEAM 1 SUBCATCHMENTS DISCRETIZATION Generation of contourmap Obtainingcoordinates and elevations (interpolation) Location and delimitation of the basin Definition of the subcatchments Obtaininglengths of pipes

  5. TEAM 1 DEFINITION AND INPUT OF HYDROLOGICAL PARAMETERS Variables • % Slope = Terrain • % Imperv= 90 • % Zero- Imperv= 50 • Drying Time= 0.3 • N-Imperv = 0.017 • N-Perv = 0.025 Ven T. Chow

  6. TEAM 1 Determination of Width"W" EQUATIONS Sk = (A2 – A1) / A W = (2 – Sk) * l

  7. TEAM 1 LOSSES METHODS: Curve Number method Horton method • CN=98 • PL= 1.83 mm/h

  8. TEAM 1 MODEL CONSTRUCTIONLa Riereta Model

  9. TEAM 1 MODEL CALIBRATION • Flow Diagram of the calibration process

  10. TEAM 1 RESULT ANALYSIS N Comparison between Efren rain event outflow and the prognostic generated by the SWMM model

  11. TEAM 1 • Calibration in progress • ………………………… • THANK YOU • GRACIAS • OBRIGADO
