  1. SERVE’S AIM • SERVE support development projects that work to transform the lives of those who are poor and • vulnerable. One of the ways that SERVE achieves • this is by fundraising to support our partner’s development projects. In 2013, with volunteer fundraising and co-funding from institutional donors, SERVE supported projects in the following countries: • Brazil • SERVE partnered with Kilkerley Parish, Dundalk, St. Colmcille’s Parish, Ballyhackamore and St. Colmcille’s Parish, Holywood and placed 22 volunteers. • With support from Misean Cara, SERVE implemented the following project: • Caritas Parnaiba Community • Regeneration Initiative Year 3 €193,625 • Thisproject helped: • Build dignified housing for 25 families; • Provide basic community infrastructure and • amenities including public lighting, pavements; • Community education & literacy programmes; • Human rights project through the training of Grassroots Lawyers and land registration campaign; and • Establishment of a “Catadores” Community Co-op; • Zambia • SERVE placed 10 volunteers. With support from Misean Cara, SERVE are implementing the following projects: • St Bakhita’s Capacity Development • Programme €7,178 • Piggery & Irrigation Units at • Luyando Farm, St Bakhitas (SBA) €25,000 • This SERVE funding in Zambia is helping: • 25 adults with training in youth work; • 34 young people with training in Youth Leadership and youth work best practice; • 50 young people trained in Music and art Workshops; and • Develop a sustainable income source for SBA • Mozambique • SERVE placed 13 volunteers. With support • from Misean Cara, Electric Aid & Irish Aid • SERVE supported the following projects: • Young Africa Skills to • Community Programme €11,100 • Agri Tech Development €42,000 • Young Africa TVET Prog €40,000 • Water for All, Muvamba • Year 3 €134,376 • With support from Misean Cara, Irish Aid, Electric Aid & DFID UK, SERVE are • committed to supporting the following • projects in 2014: • Water for All Year 5 €135,000 • Agri Tech Development Yr 3 €192,000 • Young Africa TVET Prog Yr 3 €190,000 • These projects help by: • Providing 11 new water resources helping • over 10,000 people; • Installation of critical utilities at YA Agri Tech; • Investing in new training equipment & facilities to develop medium level training courses; • Upgrading the training curriculum to medium level; • 2 successful Sports Festivals held for 400 • people; • Provide micro credit funding to Young • Africa graduates; • Recruiting an entrepreneurship promoter to • improve business performance of Franchise • Holders and link graduates to the workplace; • Increasing incomes of Young Africa • graduates; • Helping YA graduates stay HIV free through mainstreaming of effective SRHR training • South Africa • SERVE placed 14 volunteers. With co-funding from • Irish Aid, SERVE supported the following projects: • Tapologo Orphan and Vulnerable • Children (OVC) Programme €24,000 • Tapologo HIV/AIDS Clinics • & OVC Infrastructure Programme €18,500 • Tsholofelo Community • Skills Training Programme €47,000 • Tsholofelo Infrastructure Dev €5,290 • Thisfunding helps by providing: • Education and nutrition support to 550 orphaned & • vulnerable children in a community setting; • Improved HIV/AIDS clinic & OVC facilities for • 3 poor communities; • Skills training in carpentry, bricklaying, welding, • upholstery & AET for 250 people from squatter • camp communities; and • Improved skills training infrastructure for 2 • communities. • Namibia • With funding secured from Electric Aid, and donors in the Netherlands, SERVE are supporting the following project: • Young Africa Namibia Solar Technology • Training Department €93,161 • This project will help: • 45 young people per year secure employment in the Solar Tech sector; • Increase the income earning potential of graduates; • Improve the SRHR decisions taken by young people who are in a very vulnerable situation

  2. India • SERVE placed 10 volunteers. With co-funding from Misean Cara and Electric Aid, SERVE are supporting • the following projects: • Morning Star Farm Project €52,733 • APD Education Programme for • Disabled Children Year 3 €24,317 • Jyothi Seva School Equipment and • Vehicle €30,625 • Sumanahalli Housing Renovation €31,315 • Mother & Child Kerala, Improved • Living Facilities €12,533 • This fundingis helping: • Provide improved financial sustainability at Morning Star; • 60 disabled children receive education and support to return to mainstream education; • Improved education prospects for 100 children with visual impairments • 50 people with leprosy living in dignified housing. • Education and care for 250 children & young adults; • Zimbabwe • With co-funding from Misean Cara, Electric Aid, Irish Aid and UK Trusts, SERVE supported the following projects: • Caritas Harare Mhondoro • Rural Development Yr 2 €101,500 • Caritas Harare Manyame Irrigation • & WASH Programme €75,000 • Mavambo Trust Orphan & • Vulnerable Children Programme €94,000 • Young Africa Zimbabwe SDP Yr 2 €83,682 • This funding is helping: • Strengthen a community irrigation scheme to improve food production, livelihood security & WASH services for 390 farming households; • Improve access to education and holistic support services for 850 OVC in 3 communities; • Improve income levels and reduce vulnerability to HIV and AIDS for 1,000 young people; and • New TVET facility constructed at Epworth community. The main projects managed by SERVE are: • Maternal Health Care Programme, • DR Congo €133,496 • Iruma Education Project, Kenya €150,641 • Kantchari Skills & Literacy Project, • Burkina Faso €116,964 • Menongue Rural Development Resource • and Training Centre, Angola €98,439 • Vocational Training Centre for Women, • Tibga, Burkina Faso €139,486 • Philippines • SERVE placed 13 volunteers and supported the following project with support from Misean Cara: • Badjao Regeneration Programme €109,869 • SERVE are committed to supporting the following project in 2014: • Badjao Regeneration Programme Yr 2 €265,979 • This SERVE funding in the Philippines is helping: • 1,841 Badjao people improve their social, economic and cultural status.
