  4. On Study 2009.a. Victimization study have been carried out in the four Estonian prisons (Tallinna, Tartu, Murru ja Harku prison) The main aim was to explain the extent and nature of victimization

  5. Sample • N= 206 inmates

  6. Method The main method was survey Inmates were asked to complete questionnaire (A small number of inmates failed to complete the questionnaire)

  8. Rates of victimization 29.6% - been victimized at least once 19,9% - been victimized at least once in year 6,3% - been victimized every day

  10. Physicalinjuries 41% - slight injuries 24,6% - serious injuries
