  1. Acts 5:1-11 Is God Angry?

  2. Many people today do not want to think of God’s wrath at all, preferring to think and speak ONLY of God’s love. Some who do believe God is a God of wrath as well as a God of love prefer to think of His wrath in the past tense. Many seem to believe God’s wrath is an Old Testament truth, and that with the coming of Christ, we are now safe to think only in terms of God’s love. This is wrong thinking about God.

  3. Who has Bewitched you? Galatians 3:1 Another GospelGalatians 1:6-8 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!

  4. But God's angry displeasure erupts as acts of human mistrust and wrongdoing and lying accumulate, as people try to put a shroud over truth. The Message ROMANS 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, New King James But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. New Living Translation

  5. Throughout scripture we see the “Dual Nature” of God • Goodness and Severity • Law & Grace • Judgment & Mercy • Kindness and Wrath • Freedom and Discipline • Liberty and Holiness

  6. He is slow to anger… Exodus Numbers Nehemiah Numerous Psalms Numerous Proverbs Joel Jonah Nahum

  7. God is a Holy Consuming Fire He cannot abide where there is sin, or more correctly SIN cannot abide in His presence He will not “wink” at our sin, and tell us “Don’t worry, it’s all ok…” He will not allow us to be comfortable in our sin However, if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgives us our sin, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-10

  8. 3 But do not let immorality or any impurity or greed even be named among you, as is proper among saints; 4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them. (Ephesians 5:3-7)

  9. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, 15 but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; 16 because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 17 And if you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each man’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay upon earth; 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. (1 Peter 1:14-19)

  10. Sin has consequences, even when we repent and are forgiven for those sins.

  11. A sin unto death1 Corinthians 11:26-32 For every time you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. For this reason, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.  A person should examine himself first, and in this waylet him eat the bread and drink of the cup. For the one who eats and drinks without careful regard for the body eats and drinks judgment against himself.  That is why many of you are weak and sick, and quite a few are dead. But if we examined ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned with the world.

  12. Things God HatesProverbs 6:16-19 There are six things which the Lord hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

  13. The Place of Grace & Mercy There is a place, where we don't have to fear God's punishment. Obedience is the key to resting in Him as Abba Father. It is only to be found, through Faith, in the Blood, of Jesus Christ It is the place of repentance and humility. He resists the proud , but gives Grace to the humble.
