INTRODUCTION Today, Mr. Scott is an award-winning wheelchair bodybuilder, champion ballroom dancer, certified fitness trainer, motivational speaker, and Founder, CEO, and President of Wheelchair Athletics. Active high school athlete Nick Scott was confined to a wheelchair after a devastating car crash.

PROJECT OVERVIEW Wheelchair Athletics’ ongoing mission is to provide both the physical and psychological support needed to give disabled people the confidence and independence they deserve, and the help they need to face their challenges and overcome what might seem to be insurmountable barriers. Our next project: a new nonprofit, wheelchair-accessible gym in Kansas City.

GYM FEATURES The WCA gym will operate an amenity-rich, membership-based fitness club open to both disabled and non-disabled individuals. • Basketball courts • Group exercise room training • Yoga area • Locker rooms • Spin room • Strength circuits • Free weights • Multi-station weights • Single strength machines • Benches and weight racks • Plate loaded machines • Hyperbaric chambers • Hydro-massage beds • Hypoxico altitude training systems • Group cycling bikes • Elliptical cross trainers • Exercise bikes • Steppers and climbers • Swimming pool • Raquetball courts All business proceeds will be used to sustain operations, expand the nonprofit foundation, and support disabled athletes.

  7. GYM & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS Seminars: Used not only as a means of generating funds to support the gym’s operations, but also as a valuable marketing tool. Donations: The Organization will host a donation site for used clothing, household goods, and other merchandise. Fitness Training: Nationally certified Personal Trainers will assist members in reaching their fitness and weight loss goals. Health and Wellness Services: By establishing baseline fitness measurements, members can accurately plan and track progress. Camps: Through a wide range of wheelchair-specific activities and mindset-expanding programs, we will help those in wheelchairs set and achieve goals so they can become their best possible selves. Sports and Recreation: Kids will learn positive behaviors, explore their unique talents and interests, and realize their potential. Volunteer Program: Ideal for individuals looking for opportunities to get involved in their community while gaining new skills.

OPERATIONAL GOALS • Develop a state-of-the-art facility that greatly exceeds minimal wheelchair accessibility requirements • Establish itself as a trusted and respected gym and fitness center • Create a facility culture that is focused on total body health and nutrition • Build a base of members that is large enough to sustain business • Sign up 15,000 members by end of Year 1 • Cultivate and nurture a base of donors who want to partner with WCAF • Enhance membership base to sustain the business and support its growth objectives
