  1. Ephesians: Fabulous Blessings in Christ Sermon 7 – Power in Christ, part 2 Eph. 2:1-7

  2. Paul’s Request That they would be given a spirit of Wisdom & Revelation so that they might know the Lord better. That their hearts would be enlightened to know… The riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints. His incomparably great power to us who believe. The hope to which he has called us.

  3. How great is His power toward us? Christ was dead bodily It raised Christ It seated Christ with God. It gave Christ authority over all things – including the church We were dead spiritually (powerless to live, slaves to the world’s urges, under the rule of Satan, objects of wrath). It made us alive “with Christ” It seated us with Christ. It makes us His treasured ones throughout eternity. 1:20-23 2:1-7

  4. Oliver Sacks, M.D.

  6. Principles… • We were profoundly spiritually dead before He saved us.

  7. Blessing # 7 -- Eph. 2:4-5 Why? Because of God’s great love for us When? When we were dead in our sins. We were made alive Result? It is by grace you have been saved. What kind of God is He? rich in mercy

  8. Principles… • We were profoundly spiritually dead before He saved us. • He displayed great mercy and grace in saving us.

  9. Things to take home with you… • God’s power on our behalf is first expressed in salvation. If you don’t know Him, it hasn’t started yet. • We ought to praise Him for our salvation – not ourselves. • Having been rescued from the Kingdom of Death, why do we keep living there?
