  2. Petroleum. • Petroleum is mostly used for producing fuel oil and petrol. Both important “primary energy” sources. The effects from petroleum on the environment are bad because it produces oil pollution. It produces large quantities of crude oil (1.9 million barrels per day). The environmental and health impact of this is made worse by the inappropriate and inadequate environment and health impact assessment processes of petroleum drilling.

  3. The effect of petroleum on organisms. • The effect of petroleum on organisms and dry matter of fluted pumpkin (Telfairia Occidentials) was investigated. It’s highly toxic to the environment. Many organisms die from oil contamination due to toxicity, and hypothermia. Sublethal effects of oil are witnessed by accumulation of unchanged hydrocarbons.

  4. How is petroleum turned into useful energy? • By a simple chemical reaction to show the combustion of fossil fuels. It states that fuel, which is the general term that is used to describe any source of hydrocarbons. Plus oxygen yields carbon dioxide, water, and energy.

  5. The major oil spill. • In New Orleans there was an oil spill in the gulf that is still spilling out into our ocean. The clean up hasn’t been going so well because they can get the oil spill to stop so when they clean up it just gets dirt again almost instantly.

  6. The dangers on use and transportation of petroleum. • May cause a spill. • Might blow up. • Might cause serious injury or possible death.

  7. Metals. • Metals can be used for millions of things, they can be used to make building structures, or building bridges. Can be used for making housing pipes, or wires for electricity. Metals can also be used for making jewelry. There are all different kinds of metals that can be used for just about anything.

  8. The effect of using metals. • The effect on organisms is dangerous and safe to an extent. Metals can help stray animals build their territories to keep safe from their predators. However, metals can also danger these organisms by having underground metals sticking up, or falling off of things.

  9. How metals are turned into energy. • By putting electricity into metals. Like making air conditioners, washers and dryers. When the metals get hot it can cause things to move making it to where energy is formed. The dangers of using metal, is that some are made with certain chemicals that mix and make a poison, therefore when its touched it harms you.
