  2. Praying the Ordinary • Where is God? • Our vocation is an asset to prayer. • Waiting is part of ordinary time.

  3. Petitionary Prayer • Petition or Intercession. • Petition is not a lower form of prayer. • Why should we ask God for things when he already knows our needs? • Nothing is more important to him than the anxiety we feel over our problems. • God does not answer all the time. • Does God never hear a sinner’s prayer?

  4. Intercessory Prayer • Intercessory Prayer is priestly ministry. • We pray in the name of Jesus. • Organized, Corporate, Intercessory Prayer • We begin with prayer for our enemies. • Prayer is a way of loving others.

  5. HEALING PRAYER • God employs an infinite variety of means to bring health and well being to his people. • Begin to pray for small things. • What about the fact that not everyone who receives prayer is healed?

  6. THE PRAYER OF SUFFERING • “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34) • Joy, not misery, is the compelling energy behind redemptive suffering. • “We are more than conquerors” (Rom 8:35-39) • Moses stood between God and the people, arguing with God to withhold his hand of judgment. (Exod. 32:30b, 32) • Endure and Fight. • As our sufferings are his, so his sufferings are ours.
