MMWork: Horizontal Strategic Objective • To advance the science and existing knowledge and standards in: • Multi-Modal Human Computer Interfaces (hereby known as MMHI) for Mobile Collaborative Work Services • Aim is to fit the needs of the mobile workers in a vast variety of cooperative distant work environments, ensuring safety as well as trust and secure access to such environments

MMWork: How to reach such Horizontal Strategic Objective ? • By developing a new theoretical framework based on: • “DESIGN FOR ALL” philosophy • Novel WORKPLACE designs • KEYenabling technologies breakthroughs: • Cooperative Work • Wearable Computing • Intelligent Garments and Smart Textiles • Mobile computing • Mixed Reality (Augmented Reality, Tangible Interfaces, Virtual Reality) • Intelligent Mobile Agents • Intelligent Fusion of Multimodal Human-Computer Interaction (HCI): • Speech Recognition and Synthesis • Human Sketch Recognition • Human Hand and Body Gesture Recognition • Biometrics (Electrophysiological Human signals) • Affective Computing

  4. MMWork: Vertical and Interoperable Strategic Objective To choose, specify, develop and objectively evaluate the best profile of MMHI for the development of context-aware, adaptive and self-configuring collaborative mobile services in six test-beds of specific industrial sectors
