While listening to the cd read along in your book on pages 72-80. • Mark the text, on the handout, for the following elements of literature: • Elements of Plot(exposition, inciting event, 2 rising action events, climax, 2 falling action events, resolution) • Foreshadowing (3 examples in text) • Suspense (1 example in text) “The Landlady”by Roald Dahl

  3. Create an interesting and school appropriate ending for the short story, “The Landlady.” The ending should be between 7 – 10 sentences. • You must write a rough draft in pencil. • After you edit/revise, write a final copy in pen and illustrate your final copy.   4. While listening to the cd, read along in your textbook on pages 85 – 99. • Fill in the Comparing Stories Chart for the story. • Be prepared to share your findings. “The Monkey’s Paw” by W.W. Jacobs

  5. While listening to the cd, read along in your textbook on pages 101 – 107. • Finish filling in the Comparing Stories Chart. • Be prepared to share your findings with the class. “The Third Wish” by Joan Aiken

  6. While listening to the cd, read along in your textbook on pages 537 – 542. • Complete a plot diagram for the story. “The Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe

  7. Complete each section of the project. • You will use a specific story for each section. • Follow directions on your assignment sheet. • Your project is due Tuesday, December 18thby the end of the block and must be in color. Short Story Analysis Project
