How will this class help me? • 1) Learn about opportunities outside of the classroom • International programs • Certificate programs • Civic Involvement opportunities (LEAD) • How to get involved in research opportunities • Getting scholarships and funding for research • Getting awards and recognition • Travel opportunities • 2) Meet students and faculty who can help you • Speakers • Panel Discussions • Open forum time

Questions we will answer this semester….. • What are the advantages of getting a research experience? • How do I decide what will be interesting to me? • How do I find a mentor? • What do I do once I start? • Can I get paid? scholarships? Awards? • How much time does it take? • Is it worth the investment? • Any other questions you have….
