  8. On-Site (cont.) Check in to the radio net and advise of any shortages Medical staff always arrive late Water is being delivered and may not be there when you arrive NCS will do our best to have SAG vans deliver any missing supplies, but this may not be possible as the races start or streets start closing
  9. Talking on the radio Medical emergencies are to be handled in the following manner I have a medical emergency describe the problem to the NCS NCS will get you the appropriate help Use Tactical Call-Signs Followed by your Amateur Radio Call Tactical call-signs make it easy for NCS to know who and were you are Amateur Radio call-sign is required my FCC Both Stations should monitor the Net at all times!
  10. Talking on the radio (cont.) Only one person from each site should talk on the radio to net control If you are separated and it becomes necessary to communicate with NCS do not let the separation stop you from calling something important in If there is an emergency situation where multiple people respond have one person be in charge of the situation Have another person responsible for communications This avoids multiple calls for one situation
  11. Talking on the radio (cont.) Don’t let race day be the first time you have used your radio Make sure you have a full charge and a spare battery Make sure you have the radio programmed correctly Speaker mikes are nice, but can be a problem Can come loose and lock the radio in transmit Can put the radio in a bad position for reception Consider an ear piece instead
  12. Race Transportation Vehicles (Sag’s) When requesting RTV’s know how many runners need to be picked up Get runner number(s) If the runner(s) leaves let NCS know Race Transportation Vehicles take time to get to your location Be patient RTVs have to wait for race traffic If situation becomes a medical emergency call NCS for an ambulance When an ambulance is requested Have someone meet the ambulance It is easier for you to find them than it is for them to find you
  13. Race Transportation Vehicles (Cont.) We are not a Taxi Service SAG van will drop off at Ground Zero only Runner will check in to medical tent AMR will drop off at Hospital only Runner will be sent to ER
