  1. The Respiratory System Today’s Objectives: Student will be able to explain the role of the respiratory system. Student will be able to identify the major structures of the respiratory system (trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli). Students will be able to explain the relationship between the cardiovascular and respiratory system, also known as the cardiorespiratory system.

  2. The Respiratory System Check it Out! This system allows you to breathe! It’s role in the body is to exchange gases between the environment and within the body! It gives us a constant supply of oxygen while ridding the body of carbon dioxide.

  3. These images show you where each structure is located within the lung. The picture on the right is a close up of your alveoli!

  4. Working with your table buddy- you are to create a summary of the Respiratory System using the diagram provided to you. You must use a combination of words, phrases or pictures to describe the role and function of the system. You must include the following terms: • Oxygen • Carbon Dioxide • Trachea • Lungs • Alveoli • Rib cage (you will have to Draw this in) • Bronchi • Bronchiole • Capillaries • Diaphragm Your Assignment- BE CREATIVE!
