  4. The GOAL is to help all K-12 students: Learn about self Learn about the world around them And make meaningful connections between the two

  5. 4 Components • Guidance Curriculum • Purpose – Student awareness, development, and appreciation of skills needed in every day life. • Ex. Classroom Activities, Curriculum Development, Group Activities, Parent Workshops • Individual Planning • Purpose – Student educational/career planning, decision making, and goal setting. • Ex. Conferencing, Assessment, Advisement, Transition Planning, Accommodations • Responsive Services • Purpose – Prevention and intervention. • Ex. Personal/Group Counseling Sessions, Crisis Response, Coordination and referral with community agencies • System Support • Purpose – Program delivery and support • Ex. Developing Community and Parent Involvement, Professional/Staff Development, Student and Program Information Management

  7. Program Outcomes: • Increased student achievement K-12. • Increased collaboration between parents, community and school. • Increased post secondary school enrollments. • Decreased discipline problems and drop out rate. • Decreased last minute schedule changes.
