  2. TEST DATES IOWA Administration Tuesday - Wednesday April 2-3, 2013 Benchmark Administration Monday – Friday, April 8 -12, 2013 *Make-Ups will be after the1st day of Testing

  3. TESTING ASSIGNMENTS • 9th by HR/Large Group Cafeteria • 7th & 8th by HR • Special Accommodations Testing • Will Not Test (Gym) • All students will test unless they have completed an Alt Portfolio

  4. TEST SCHEDULE • 7th Grade will start on Monday, April 8th • 8th Grade will start on Tuesday, April 9th • (Start telling HR where they will test) • Follow testing schedule provided by school test coordinator (including breaks) • All testing will start at 8:30 (Benchmark will be started by intercom each day)

  5. TEST PROCEDURES • Review/Check out manuals (Go online) • Review Checklist for Test Administrators • Pick up materials: • 9th @ 8am cafeteria • 7th & 8th 7:40-8:00 guidance office (You sign out I will sign you in so please WAIT.) • Post Testing Signs • Day 1 instructions to pass out materials • Day 2 etc pass out materials before 8:30

  6. TEST PROCEDURES • Answer documents have labels or bubbled demographics • Students will complete Box 1 (place info on the board) • Record start & stop times • Same book each day (Put names on books) • Wait to be relieved before bringing back materials • Affidavit 3 (Last day of testing)

  7. TEST SECURITY • Review Test Security Guidelines • Keep materials secure at all times (Keys for classrooms) • Distribute materials in spiral orders • No cell phones, computers, or other electronic with photographic or communication capabilities (Items should be turned off and unavailable) • If any prohibited equipment is accessed during testing notify testing coordinator.

  8. TEST SECURITY • No food, drink, or extraneous materials in the testing area, including scratch paper, books, magazines, newspapers, etc. • Monitor: Wrong answer document, answering in wrong section on wrong test (use large session #s), students working ahead or going back (absent students. • Read all directions using a normal tone and manner, exactly as written in the script.

  9. TEST SECURITY • Reading may ONLY be provided for students with reading accommodations in their IEP or 504 Plan, but no portion of the Reading sessions can be read. • Provide no cues or assistance to students. Do not read items/or answer questions about content. • If a student insists there is not an answer: • Do not look at the test question. • Instruct student to pick the best answer. • Provide the School Test Coordinator with the item number, session number, and test name.

  10. TEST SECURITY • Use a # 2 pencil ONLY • Math Ref sheets are secure materials • Testing sessions cannot be ended early.

Calculators • Calculators may only be used when allowed during a testing session or is an allowable accommodation. • Students can not share calculators • Students can only use one calculator • All calculators must be cleared at the start and end of each testing day • Instructions on how to clear calculators will be provided.

  12. Testing Irregularities • Students answering in the wrong place • Damage to the answer document • Use of ink or other than #2 pencil on the answer document • Use of a prohibited highlighter on the answer document • Using calculators on the wrong part of the test • Failure clear calculators before and after the math assessment • Helping students answer questions and cueing • Distributing testing material to the wrong student • Students working ahead or going back to completed sessions • Students or administrators accessing electronic devices • What do I do? • Immediately notify the School Test Coordinator

  13. Emergency Procedures • Student safety 1st • Secure test materials • Note test session and time remaining in the session

TESTING REMINDERS • Cover all cueing aids. • Remove window covers and open blinds • Review Test Admin. folders for important info, special accommodations and will not test list, absentee forms. • Timers and pencils (pencil sharpeners) • Relief schedule • Teacher Use Only box will be completed after testing by me unless otherwise instructed.

  16. Testing Accommodations • Must be listed in the student’s IEP, 504, or LPAC plan under “standardized testing accommodations” • Must be an allowable accommodation • Must be used regularly in the classroom

  17. Testing Accommodations • Ensure that students only receive the accommodations identified in their plans • When extended time is allowed, students must complete each session in the order scheduled before moving on to the next session. • Extended time does not allow students to go back into a session at a later time in the day to continue working or to complete unfinished items.

  18. Testing Accommodations • Test Administrators administering a read-aloud accommodation will read from the Test Booklet for Test Administrators for the benchmark exam • Test Administrators administering a read-aloud accommodation for the IOWA exam will use a regular test booklet to read from. • Test Booklets for Test Administrators are secure and should not be copied or discussed. • Readers may not clarify, elaborate, or provide assistance to the students. (Cueing)

  19. Testing Accommodations • Readers should be familiar with the terminology and symbols specific to the content. This is especially important for science and mathematics assessments. • Language, Science, and Math sessions are the only sessions read aloud to the students. • Reading and Vocabulary sessions cannot be read aloud and will appear as blank pages in the Test Booklet (Benchmark) for Test Administrators • Test administrators providing the READ-ALOUD accommodation must sign a waiver form BEFORE and AFTER testing
