    2. Our student�s frustrations� �Evidence is clear that without stronger reading and language skills, Deaf students generally will not be successful in program of study at the baccalaureate level. Reading, language and mathematical skills are critical to success in all types of post secondary academically oriented programs.� Jessica Anne Cuculick and Ronald R. Kelly (2003) The academic subjects that have the most impact on a Deaf child�s future are Language, Literacy and Mathematics.

    3. What can we do about it? Because our students are visual learners, these subjects need to be presented in multiple visual methods. Alleviating the frustration by using a variety of visual models found in the Inspiration and Kidspiration programs!

    4. Kidspiration Kidspiration is a program for grades k-5. This program visually help students learn to think, write and comprehend a variety of information. Graphic organizers can be used to combine pictures, texts and spoken words. Younger students can develop literacy skills at an earlier age. Older students can improve their comprehension skills and learn how to organize their writing in a more efficient way.

    7. Inspiration More appropriate for grades 6 and above. Inspiration provides visual tools for students and adults to plan, research and complete projects successfully! Graphic organizers are the key element in this program. As a result of these organizers, students have a better understanding of concepts and demonstrate knowledge, which improves their overall academic performance.

    8. Inspiration Templates Inspiration has a variety of templates pertaining to different academic subjects: Language arts, Science, Planning, Social Studies and Thinking skills.
