  2. Mixture vs. Compound A mixture is a physical combination of two or more substances that are blended together without forming new substances. A compound is any substance that is formed by the chemical combination of two or more elements and acts like a single substance. A difference between mixtures and compounds is, mixtures are produced by a physical combination of substances and compounds are produced by chemically combining substances. Another one is that, you can’t see the substances that form a compound but you can see the substances that make up a mixture.

  3. Homogeneous vs. Heterogeneous A heterogeneous mixture is a type of mixture that may only be party blended and look speckled through your eye or a microscope. A homogenous mixture is a type of mixture that is completely blended and looks the same everywhere. One difference between these two is that homogeneous mixtures create one substance, but heterogeneous mixtures don’t. Another difference is, you can see the particles in a heterogeneous mixture but you can’t in a homogeneous one.

  7. Why does this matter? The science material we learn is important because it helps us understand the world around us. It also allows you to experience and know some really great things that can really help in the future. I love learning science because I can learn what certain things are made of, how things are made, and much more! These are a few reasons why I love science.
