Here are the steps to be followed: • Open the Outlook account closure page. • If you are signed into your Hotmail account then you will reach the password entry page. • If you are not signed in, then enter your email ID & password to log in.
On the password entry page, enter your password to verify your identity. • If you aren’t signed to the accessing account closure page then you need to input the last four digits of your phone number in this field. Click on Send Code, near the bottom of the page. • Enter the code sent to your contact number in the provided field. • Hit the Sign in button. In case you had to use code to verify your account then you can skip this step. • At the bottom of the page, hit the Next button.
Tick each box on the left side of the appealed page. It will confirm that you have read & accepted each term of deletion. • Click on Select a reason box, near the bottom of the page. • Choose a reason for closing your account and if your reason is not there then just click My reason isn’t listed. • Lastly, click on the blue button at the bottom the page Mark account for Closure.
Once you have clicked this button, your account will be marked for deletion. If you change your mind and do not want to delete it, then simply log back into your Hotmail account at any time in the following 60 days.
