  2. About CAVS • Focused on developing superior computational, engineering, manufacturing, design, and information technologies relevant to Mississippi industries • Approximately 200 employees • Ranging from undergrad to faculty • 10 research teams operating quasi-independently

  3. Issues • Lack of a marketable website • Must be easy to update • Must be easy to use • Unorganized data • Multiple data sources • Lack of data integrity

  4. Solution • Website Redesign using MySQL and PHP • Website draws data from database • Database is updated by functionality built into the intranet part of the website

  5. New Issue • CAVS Employees are not using the website • Due to: • Lack of Awareness • Lack of time • Lack of incentive

  6. Solution • Build quarterly reports and other useful reports using information gathered through website interface
