  1. Seriplex control bus

  2. Seriplex- what is it ? • The SERIPLEX control bus is a component-level networktechnologyproviding a fast, simple, distributed I/O system to exchange data amongcontrol or manufacturing process elements. Within each SERIPLEX controlbus device is an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) that enables communication between the SERIPLEX control bus and the component I/O. SERIPLEX devices are networked together by a single, shielded, five-conductor cable. • The control bus is designed to complement rather than compete with the higher-level, field bus-type communication systems that are best suited to transmitting large information data packets. SERIPLEX protocol resides primarily at the physical device level, providing the deterministic, process-critical, real-time I/O updates needed by most control systems and leaves slower, higher-level communication to other networks.

  3. Seriplex– abilities • SERIPLEX devices can control photo switches, proximity sensors, push buttons, and actuators, such as valves and contactors. A SERIPLEX device receives its commands from controllers such as PLCs and personal computers. Universal discrete I/O modules connect the control bus with non-SERIPLEX devices. The SERIPLEX ASIC can also be embedded into I/O devices or machinery for direct connection to the SERIPLEX control bus.
