  4. PRESENT PASSIVE SENTENCES STEPS • The object of an active sentence becomes the subject of passive • We look at the tense of the verb in the active sentence ArgentiniansspeakSpanish Active (Object)

If we want to indicate who performed the action, the subject of the active sentence becomes a complement agent and it is introduced by the preposition "by" ArgentiniansspeakSpanish Active (Object)

  6. AFIRMATIVE Affirmative present the passive voice is formed with Subject + Be+ Verb Past participle A book is written by John T-shirts are made of cotton by them. The speech is written by the president.

  7. NEGATIVE Negative present the passive voice is formed with Subject + Be (negative)+ Verb Past participle A book isn´t written by John T-shirts aren´t made of cotton by them. The speech isn´t written by the president.

  8. INTERROGATIVE Interrogative present the passive voice is formed with Be +Subject + Verb Past participle Is a book written by John? Are T-shirts made of cotton ? Is the speech written by the president?

  9. EXERCICES Active : The gardener waters the flowers every evening. Passive: The flowers are watered by the gardener every evening. Active : Helen doesn't drink anything in parties. Passive: Nothing is drunk by Helen in parties. Active : My mother doesn't paint the walls. Passive: The walls aren't painted by my mother.
