  2. matchamaniaus Our matcha is farmed in Uji in Kyoto prefecture, the heart of traditional Japan. This region is home to many of the country’s beautiful temples and sacred mountains. It is also known as the source of Japan’s best tea, and matcha has been cultivated here since the 1100s. In fact, this is where Japan’s first tea plantation was sown, in the precincts of the mountain temple Kōzan-ji. The nearby forest and morning dew from the river contributed to creating the perfect environment for tea production, and the Zen monks began drinking it regularly for its vitalizing qualities. Matcha has been an important part of Japanese culture ever since, valued for its delicious, mellow flavors as well as its many health benefits. Culinary Organic Uji Matcha
