  1. Reduce the generalized travel cost of Waalsprinter users. • Improve the generalized travel costs and reliability of all users of car-only routes. Improving the Waalsprinter service 1. Goals

  2. Improving the Waalsprinter service 2. Current service • Park & Ride (parking fare = 2 euro/day) • Bus service connecting the P&R to the city centre and Heyendaal (Waalsprinter) • Dedicated bus lane direction south • Service frequency is 10 min in rush hours and 15 min off-peak • Bus fare = 0 • Demand = 200 travelers/weekday (2009)

Current service • Transport option only available for non-captive car users. • Currently, car+Waalsprinter routes have slightly lower generalized travel costs than car-only routes for all origins. • Generalized travel costs for the routes using the Waalsprinter range from 50 to 60 min, depending on the trip origin (average = 55 min). • Generalized travel costs for the only-car routes range from 51 to 64 min (average = 61 min). • The Waalsprinter service is used by travelers coming from origins other than Waalsprong and Bemmel.
