  1. Matt Crowe 4 Essential Lessons for Self Improvement

  2. In the tech business, things never stop changing and improving. When we develop software or a website, we usually give it a number to notate which version it is. A brand new program is 1.0, updated versions might be 2.0, etc. A great app or piece of software never stops improving. Microsoft Word has been around for over 30 years, and you can definitely see how the program has grown and adapted over the years. • A few of these ideas I learn in the tech world can be used to grow as a person:

  3. 1. Always be working on a new version of yourself. • You should never be entirely satisfied with where you are. Instead, you should always work on the latest version of yourself. There are always things you can improve.

  4. 2. Add some new “features” to yourself. • With each new update of yourself, you should add some new “features.” These might be: • New skills. Do you want to speak french? Build websites? Write a novel? There has never been so much access to information. • New good habits. Do you want to get more sleep? Read more? There is no better time to start. • New experience. Join a club? Travel? Take up a new hobby? It makes you a more complete person.

  5. 3. Fix the “bugs” in your life. • In addition to adding some new “features”, you should also repair the “bugs” in your life. That might mean breaking a bad habit. • This bad habit could be one of procrastinating, watching too much Television, or something else.

  6. 4. Think about what your “major upgrade”could be. • Most of the time, your new improvements will be small. But every once in a while, you should do a major overhaul on yourself. This usually involves some type of big change in your life. • Ask yourself: what is something big you should do to take yourself to the next level?
