  2. Overtime Procedures • Teams return to team boxes. • 3 Minute intermission. • Officials assemble at the 50 (carry over penalties?). No chains, box only. • R & U meet w/ head coaches & captains in center of field to explain procedures. • Coin toss – visiting team calls the toss. • Winner gets choice of Offense or Defense first or designating the end of the field.

  3. Overtime Procedures • Loser has choice of other options. • Referee places hand on shoulder pad of winner. • “R” has team on Defense have his back to his own goal line. • “R” has team on Offense face opponents goal line and signals first down.

  4. Overtime Procedures • Each team has One (1) overtime series. • Team scoring more points at the end of the period (series for A and series for B) wins. • To start, team A puts ball in play on B’s 10 yard line, unless penalty carry over makes it otherwise. • A may place the ball on the 10 anywhere between the inbound lines (hash marks.)

  5. Overtime Procedures • Team A shall have a series of four downs. • Series terminates with a score by A or possession by team B. • If A scores a touchdown, they have the opportunity for a “Try” unless the points do not affect the outcome of the game. • A field goal may be attempted on any down.

  6. Overtime Procedures • If team B gains possession, the series is over for A. • After A has possession, Team B is given their series. • The same end of the field will be used for both teams for the period. • If score remains tied after each team’s series, there is a two (2) minute break.

  7. Overtime Procedures • No coin toss but team that lost first coin toss is given choices. • For subsequent periods, alternate first choice. • Team A receives a new series for: • DPI • Recovery of a kick 1st touched by B beyond LOS. • Roughing kicker, passer, snapper or holder is assessed against B.

  8. Overtime Procedures • If Team B scores a safety, the game is over. • No try is attempted if the winner of the game is determined. • PSK does not apply. • The Line To Gain is always the goal line.
