  2. What we’ll be discussing Today we will be talking about the Membership, Mobilize, Money, Skills, and Strategies aspects of the PAC, Planned Parenthood. PP is a trusted health care provider, an informed educator, a passionate advocate, and a global partner helping similar organizations around the world. Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide.

  3. Membership Planned Parenthood is the largest U.S. provider of reproductive health services, including cancer screening, HIV screening and counseling, contraception, and abortion. Contraception accounts for 35% of Planned Parenthood’s total services and abortions account for 3%. They also conduct roughly 300,000 abortions each year, among 3 million people served.

  4. Membership Nearly youths and adults participate in Planned Parenthood educational programs every year. 820 Health Center in the US Organize workshops/classes to help inform people about sexual and reproductive health. In addition, we could visit schools that are willing to learn about sex education.

  5. Membership Planned Parenthood is trying to prevent youth, adults, and families from STD’s, unplanned pregnancies,ect. They serve over five million clients a year, 26% of which are teenagers under the age of 19. According to Planned Parenthood, 75% of their clients have incomes at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level.

  7. Mobilize April 2009: MTV and the Kaiser Family Foundation started working with Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its nationwide network of health centers on the Get Yourself Tested, a campaign to increase testing for STD’s among those under 25 years old.

Mobilize PP endorses the National Consensus Statement on Latino Teen Pregnancy Prevention along with 20 other leading sexual and reproductive health organizations and Latino advocacy and youth groups. Within five years, one out of every four married women in America under the age of 45 has used the pill.

Money Planned Parenthood has grown to have over 820 clinic locations in the U.S., with a total budget of US $1 billion In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, total revenue was $201 million: clinic revenue totaling $2 million, grants and donations of $190 million, investment income of $2 million, and $7 million other income. Planned Parenthood has received federal funding since 1970.

Skills Planned Parenthood’s Global Reproductive Health Policy: P.P Opposes China’s One-Child Policy; Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) opposes coercive and inhumane reproductive policies and practices, including China’s one-child policy and the illegal practices of forced abortion and coerced birth control reported in some localities

  13. Skills Planned Parenthood Global works to build movements that promote and protect the reproductive health and rights of vulnerable women and young people. Planned Parenthood’s work focuses on: -expanding access to reproductive health services; including family planning and safe abortion. -advocating for expanded reproductive rights through country-specific and U.S based efforts.
