  2. Background • Marvin Lee Aday • born on Sept. 27, 1947; Dallas, Texas • an only child • father gave him the nickname of meat loaf, because of his weight • graduated from Thomas Jefferson High; then went on to Lubbock Christian College in north Texas State

  3. Background (conti) • married Leslie Edmonds, 1976 • had 2 daughters, Amanda and Pearl • 1st music example: • “Two Out of Three Aint Bad”

  4. 1st Exposure • fronted for The Who, Joe Cracker, and Iggy Pop • recorded an album for Motown “Stoney and Meatloaf” • discovered by his work in “ The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in 1975.
