  5. מחקר • Sample (n = 25) • 13 rescuers who underwent the intervention • 12 rescuers who did not undergo the intervention. • All were exposed for the first time to a disaster since their training. • All the participants filled the IES (Impact of Event Scale) and DES (Dissociative Experience Scale) questionnaires thirty-six hours after leaving the disaster site. • Analysis of variance showed no significant difference in the results of the IES score between the two groups. • DES scores, as shown in the Figure, were found to be significantly lower in the intervention group (P< 0.01).

  7. Conclusions • The results indicate that our prior intervention may have prevented the development of dissociative symptoms.
