  39. Application deadline • London Internship Program with FIE • San Francisco ~ Silicon Valley Internship Program with AIC March 15th 2013

  40. Can any major apply? Yes, but … • If your major is too specialized, you might not be able to get a placement in your field. • E.g: If you major is electrical engineering, your placement might be in general engineering or another type of engineering.

  41. Internship outside your major Possible but… • You should be able to explain very clearly why you are interested in another field and what is the reasoning for seeking such placement. • You need to be aware of your potential shortcomings compare with someone who majored in the field you are interested in. • What are your strengths which can compensate for these shortcomings? • You need to think about what you hope to achieve with a placement in the field of your choice, which skills you are looking to gain, and if these plans are realistic given your current academic background.

  42. Can Graduate students apply? Yes, but … • The classroom component in the London program is aimed at undergraduate students. • For SF, please note that US immigration can be quite strict, especially with students who are not required to go home to finish their studies. You would need to prove that you intent to leave the US at the end of the program (e.g. further studies, or job in a country other than the US).

  43. Thank you! Q&A
