One Month Before Moving • Sort your chattels to reduce the number of things you have to move. • Donate items that are no longer needed. • Gather packing supplies that includes boxes, packing material, tape and scissors. • Book your travel ticket. If you’re driving to your new home, get maps and plan your travel route.

  3. Two Weeks Before Moving • Contact your utility companies such as gas, electricity, water, cable, trash collector, etc… and notify them of your move. • Confirm your travel reservations. If you’re driving, get your car tuned up. • Close or Transfer your bank account.

  4. One Week Before Moving • Finish packing all boxes and pack a survival kit of clothes, medicine, special foods and so forth. • Send change of address cards with your new address and phone to: friends and family, banks, insurance companies, credit card companies and other financial institutions etc…

  5. The Day Before Moving • Pad corners and stairways of house. • Lay down old sheets in the entry and hallways to protect floor coverings. • If you’re driving, check oil and gas in your car. • If you’re traveling, make sure you have tickets, charge cards, and other essentials.

  6. Moving Day Carry with you: • The keys of your new home. • Your current address book or personal planner. • Clothing, sheets, towels and so forth to get by if the movers are late. • Personal hygiene items (for example: toothpaste, soap, razor)
