Shin Etsu Wafer Fabrication Facility, Livingston • Clients core business • Shin-Etsu Handotai is one of the world’s leading makers of silicon wafers and ingots used in semiconductor manufacturing. • Contract description • The contract consisted of complex pipework installation within a wafer manufacturing facility. In order to achieve completion on time the pipework was off-site fabricated into modular steel frames, transported to site and then installed.. • Services provided • SPIE Matthew Hall undertook several work packages. These comprised pipework systems for process cooling; heating and chilled water; compressed air and vacuum, as well as mains water and associated thermal insulation within the fabrication facility. • Value • £5million • Relationship • Accelerated programme of works.
