  1. 7 Indian women scientists who are an inspiration to the world Like any other field, women of India have also made their mark in the field of Science. Let us take a look at seven Indian women scientists who have made immense contributions to Science, and have also paved a path for others to follow. Indira Hinduja Indira Hinduja is an Indian gynecologist and infertility specialist and is the first person to deliver a test tube baby in India. She is a pioneer of the gamete intra-fallopian transfer technique (GIFT) and is known for the oocyte dona- tion technique she developed. Anuradha TK Anuradha TK is the senior-most female scientist at ISRO, having joined the space agency in 1982, and also the first woman to become a satellite project director at ISRO. She has worked on the launches of the satellites GSAT-12 and GSAT-10. Rohini Godbole Rohini is an Indian physicist and a professor at the Centre for High Energy Physics of the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru. She has worked for over three decades on Parti- cle Phenomenology. Dr Aditi Pant Dr. Aditi Pant is an oceanographer by profession and is one of the first Indian women to visit the icy continent Antarctic. She was honoured with the Antarctica award for being part of the third Indian expedition to Antarctica in 1983-84. Nandini Harinath A rocket scientist at ISRO in Bengaluru, Nandini has worked on 14 missions in her 20 years of work. She was the deputy operations director for the Mangalyaan mission. Gagandeep Kang Gagandeep Kang is a clinician-scientist and a leading researcher with a major research focus on viral infections in children and the testing of rotaviral vaccines. She is the first Indian woman to be elected as Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS). Paramjit Khurana Paramjit is a scientist in the field of Plant Biotechnology, Genomics, and Molecular Biology. Paramjit has received several awards, including the ‘Certificate of Honour’ from the Gantavaya Sansthan.
