  2. He was an orphan and played football, rugby, soccer, lacrosse, and gymnastics in school. He went to Springfield YMCA and studied Physical Education.

  3. The first game of “basketball” was played in December 1891. The dribble was not yet invented and the only way to get the ball up the court was to pass.

  4. He married Maude Evelyn and they had five children, Margret, Helen, John, Maude, and James.

  5. In my opinion he impacted us in a great way. The people that don’t like basketball think differently. He impacted us by creating a great sport by using creativity and though to make an “athletic distraction” is what they called it. Icall it awesome!!
