  2. A healthy mouth and beautiful smile can help you to stay confident and healthy. However, if you do not take care of your oral hygiene, chances are that you might have dental problems. You may even have to undergo dental procedures including fillings, crowns, bridges or basal implants. • In order to optimize your dental health, it is important to stay aware of common dental issues and their causes.

  3. Awareness is the first step in preventing any health problems and oral health is no different. If you want to prevent yourself from having to undergo root canal treatment in Ahmedabad or any other dental treatments, we have put together a list of common dental problems that you need to avoid.

  4. A. Gum Disease: • Periodontal disease, commonly known as gum disease, is an infection of gums surrounding the teeth. If your gums bleed easily or are swollen or red may have gingivitis – an early stage of gum disease that can progress into periodontitis. • In order to avoid gum disease, you must visit your dentist and have regular dental checkups. If you already have gum disease then you need to see a dentist in order to get treatment and prevent further complications.

  5. B. Tooth decay: • Tooth decay, popularly known as cavities, occurs when you eat sugar or starches that form a sticky film of bacteria on the surface of your teeth. This film is called plaque. This combination produces an acid that attacks tooth enamel. You can get cavities at any age. The easiest way to prevent tooth decay is to brush your teeth twice a day and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Also, you need to avoid sugary food.

  6. C. Mouth Sores: • Mouth sores are an inflammation of any of the structures in the mouth such as lips, tongue, cheeks and gums. There are several types of mouth sores but these are generally not so serious – unless the mouth sore lasts more than two weeks. Common mouth sores refer to canker sores and fever blisters also known as cold sores. Using a brush with soft bristles as well as using the right brushing technique can go a long way towards preventing mouth sores.

  7. D. Oral Cancer: • Oral cancer is a serious dental issue that affects millions of people. Oral cancer can occur due to excessive usage of tobacco with alcohol. It starts small. The symptoms of oral cancer starts includes lumps, sores or rough areas in the mouth. Most cases occur after the age of 40. • Many times, the oral cancer is not detected on time and usually, by the time it is noticed, the cancer is already at an advanced stage. Try to stop smoking if you want to avoid being a victim of oral cancer and make sure to visit your dentist often. • These are some serious dental problems that, if ignored, can cause major disease. However, with a little vigilance, good oral hygiene and regular dental checkups, you can keep these dental problems at bay.
