If You Were An Employer, What Kind Of Person Would You Want Working For You? • Someone who performed their duties well & was skilled in the particular task that you needed • But most of all you would desire someone whom you could completely trust • Even if they weren’t the fastest or the brightest bulb on the tree, if you could trust them, it would mean so much

If You Were An Employer, What Kind Of Person Would You Want Working For You? • You don’t have to constantly monitor a faithful employee – Genesis 39:2-6,20-23 • Know things left in their charge will be handled- Matthew 24:45-47 • Parable of Talents – Matthew 25:14,15, 19-23 • Lazy, cowardly servant faced master’s wrath- Matthew 25:24-27

If You Were An Employer, What Kind Of Person Would You Want Working For You? • Paul compares trustworthy servant & child of God- 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 “1 Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”

  5. God Set The Standard For Faithfulness • God reliably cares for His children- 1 Corinthians 10:13 • He can preserve us – 1 Thessalonians 5:23,24 • He will protect us – 2 Thessalonians 3:3 • He will forgive us – 1 John 1:9

  6. God Set The Standard For Faithfulness • He will reward us – 1 Corinthians 1:4-9 • We can be confident in our salvation- 2 Corinthians 1:15-22 • Jesus showed Himself Faithful – Hebrews 3:1,2; Revelation 1:5; 3:14

  7. Because the Bible is God’s Word – It is Found Trustworthy • Filled with statements that can be trusted – 1 Timothy 1:15; 4:8,9; 2 Timothy 2:11,12 • Elders to Hold Fast the faithful word – Titus 1:9 • Trusted statement concerning good works – Titus 3:8

  8. God’s Reliability Should Inspire Us To Be Trustworthy Servants of Him • Hebrews 10:23 • Thomas offered evidence & encouraged to be faithful- John 20:27 • Those with Christ called faithful- Revelation 17:14 • Complete trust in a faithful creator- 1 Peter 4:17-19

  9. Faithfulness Must Be Reached In All Aspects of Life • Luke 16:10-12 • It is a lifestyle – not something you turn on or off • All we do is done faithfully – 3 John 4-8 • Elder or deacon’s wife – 1 Timothy 3:11

  10. Faithfulness so important the concept become a “name” for the Christian • Letters addressed to the faithful – Ephesians 1:1; Colossians 1:1 • The Jews who believed – Acts 10:45 • Paul was trustworthy- 1 Corinthians 7:25

  11. Faithfulness so important the concept become a “name” for the Christian • Savior of those who believe – 1 Timothy 4:10 • An example to believers – 1 Timothy 4:12 • Believing masters- 1 Timothy 6:2 • Passing on to faithful men – 2 Timothy 2:2

  12. Reliable Servants a Great Compliment • Lord found Paul faithful- 1 Timothy 1:12 • Paul found Timothy reliable – 1 Corinthians 4:17 • Tychicus a faithful minister- Ephesians 6:21; Colossians 4:7 • Onesimus – Colossians 4:9 • Silvanus – 1 Peter 5:12 • Antipas – Revelation 2:13
