Who are we? • Step 1 study integration program • Presentations like this each block to help you adjust and “study smart” • Step 1 resources week in October with student panel • DIT, picmonic, etc. • TBD • Available for individual help throughout the year! • NOT content review for the blocks– different MS4 program (templetutors2018@gmail.com) • Practice questions incorporated • Refer detailed questions about content to these tutors • More to come in Spring 2018 • Approx 6 review sessions with practice questions

  3. Studying strategies • 2ndyear moves fast. Especially block 7! • May need to change how you’re studying if you feel it’s not working. Be open to it! • Much memorization in block 7 • Quality > quantity • Effective break taking • Pomodoro method • Weekdays work, weekends off • 9-5 approach • Make free time actual free time

IT WILL ALL BE OK! • Studying for your classes is studying for step 1!!! • Don’t feel like you have to do what everyone else is doing or buy what everyone is buying!!! • But at same time, if something isn’t working don’t be afraid to try something new or ask for help from peer/us/student affairs

Study Tips for Active Learning • “Ctrl-F” electronic version of First Aid (on the drive) • Skim First Aid / use as outline for framework • Use lecture objectives • Practice questions (USMLE easy, USMLE rx) • Visualize sketchy/picmonic in head from scratch • Workshops • Try to create structural framework in mind to make sense of random facts • Ask questions • Compare things
