Overviewsportingseason 2018 • 95 dates (92 in 2017) • 14 sections • Attendance : 255 individuals are mentioned on final classifications of all Belgiancompetitions (232 en 2018) • ~230 differentpersons (somecompete in severalcategories) • Stilllessthan 5 % of our total membership • New increase in FPV-racing (61 participants thisyear) compensatelosses in other « classical » categories

Championships 2019 (2) • All Belgian teams to be finalized today • Final commitment from the pilots • Pilots designate team manager (TM) • TM establishes preliminary budget • Team designates helpers if possible • TM becomes person of contact for his/her team • BML/LBA 2019 budget for Team Managers is limited to 1500 € per TM, depending on proposals prepared today, and pending approval by the League plenary meeting on Feb.17 - sharing depending on complete financial reports • TM provide reports not later than Oct.1 -2019

BelgianChampionships 2019 • Limit proliferation of dates for categorieswithlowattendance • Basic goal remains: • if possible 6 contests (valid minimum is 4) • National competitionspreferably on Sunday (Saturday if unanimouslyapproved by pilots, Mondaywhen festive) • International contestscanbe part of national calendar, pendingunanimousapproval in the section • But other formulas for BelgianChampionship are welcome… • E.g. the championshipisbased on a 2 or 3 daysevent, involving a minimum number of flights or rounds • Grouping of categoriesishighlyrecommended

Selectioncriteria for FAI championships • For 2020 championships • Require participation to a definednumber of national eventsduring 2019 • Require participation at international contests in selectionrule • For 2019 championships • « Second chance » requests to bepresented to April Sports commission and approvedpending proof of proficiency

National calendar • Section coordinatorprovides AAM, VML and LBA/BML with • Contestresults of each national contest, preferably in Excel format • Contest report on appropriateform (fillablepdf) • Communication problems • Proliferation of section-specificwebsites • Comm. person in each section shouldpublishresults and reports on the mostfavoured web media • No longer financial support for extrenal web hosting, use LBA/BML platform available for free

Sportingmaterial • All sections have responsibility over specificsportingmaterial • Watches, public address, poles, sonometers, computingmaterial, etc. • Coordinators : keep up-to-date inventary • More materialcanbeasked for, pendingapproval of BML-LBA board. • Paid in equal parts by VML and AAM

  15. Belgiancompetitions –Whogetsrefunded? Only the coverage of the travelcostsisrefundable (0,3 € / km) Conditions: • Persons are not part of the staff of the organising clubs • Persons do not travel to the competitiontogetherwith a competitor Who ?: • The sportingdirector in charge of the contest • The judgeswhenrequired by the code • The pilots of towingairplanes • In addition, up to two (2) persons in charge of the secretariat or the contest direction Specific situation of towing pilots – fee per towingoperation

  16. This meeting and competitions reports • PLEASE… use electronic format ! • Today’s report isWord file easy to complete on the computer • Competition reports are forms in « fillable PDF » format. Use itwith Acrobat Reader DC and sendelectronic format to contact people • Provide reports in hard copy (network connected printer and copier are available in the room – ask for driver for W7 and W10 if needed) and electronic format beforeleavingthis room !

  17. Reportingexpenditures • Reportingexpenditures: • For all, you are required to provide « expenditure notes » (cash tickets, hotel and fuel bills, transportation tickets, etc. – no bill = no payment) • Team managers : • make sure all your team memberskeeptheseproofs of payment and collectthe originals • Coordinators : • provide proof of payment for all expenses • Provideaccuratecontest reports withnames, FAI licence number, final results, list of judges and jury members, etc.

To proceed… • Thanks to section coordinators • Celebration of the Belgian laureates of the 2018 Belgian championships • Reception • Section meetings, sharing this room, all sections • Report today’s section meetings • Laptops and shared printer available in this room, local WiFi “LBA-BML” (open WiFi), no Internet, TelenetHomeSpot possible… • To prevent errors, only computer filled-in forms are accepted • Use report form and provide 3 printed copies by end of this day (photocopy machine available) • Provide report in electronic format on USB stick
