Attendance • Tardy bell rings at 8:20 • Monday dismissal at 1:30 • Tuesday-Friday dismissal at 2:50 • Please make all attempts possible to schedule vacations and doctor appointments during non-school hours! • Students are required to make up all work missed during absences. • Students are in charge of finding out missed work.

  4. Academics • Reading (Accelerated Reader included) • Language Arts • Spelling • Writing • Grammar • History • Science (Brown/Delucchi & Boehmer) • Math (Quintana & Fetterman/Edmiston) • Music

  5. Academics-Continued • Science • 30+ labs per year • $15.00 lab donation • Cash only please

Academics-Continued • Accelerated Reader (AR) • 3 or 6 week grading period • Individualized goals/points • Students test within ZPD • Test below ZPD is no credit • Test above ZPD with teacher approval only • Fail 2 tests within grading period can’t test again until next grading period (70% passing)

  9. Science Camp • November 11-15, 2013 • Jones Gulch in Pescadero, CA • Mrs. Brown/Delucchi attending • New students may still attend • $290.00 per child • Cash only: Due October 2nd!

  10. Grading • Late assignments are NOT accepted • RED circles in agenda = missed assignment • Homework/Class work = 60% • Tests/Quizzes = 40%

  11. Student Guidelines • TRIBES: Appreciation/No Put-Downs, Right to Pass/Right to Participate, Attentive Listening, Mutual Respect • CHARACTER COUNTS: trustworthiness, respect, citizenship, caring, responsibility, fairness

  12. Lanyards @ GKE • All students (6th-8th grade) are required to wear at GKE lanyard with student ID • $3 to replace lost lanyard • Consequences: • 1st: warning • 2nd: detention • 3rd: Friday School • -4th: Suspension

  13. Supplies • Required by Monday, August 19th • 7 spiral notebooks • Glue sticks • Pencils • Loose leaf binder paper • Agenda ($10.00-cash) • Cover books by Monday, August 19th
