This, he stated, underlines the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to amplify the prominence of medical tourism. He emphasized Jordan’s commendable standing in medical tourism, labelling the country as one of the frontrunners in this sphere. Subscribe to Newsletter Elaborating on the Kingdom’s medical prowess, Al-Qaisi mentioned that around 3,000 skilled and trained physicians reside in Jordan. The country also enjoys a high proportion of competent nurses, with a ratio of about 35.6 per 10,000 individuals. Al-Qaisi added that Jordan is home to 121 hospitals that cater to the healthcare needs of its citizens, expatriates, and foreign patients from surrounding countries. Firas Al-Hawari, Jordan’s Health Minister, also weighed in on the matter. He stated that medical tourism has earned the special attention of His Majesty King Abdullah II, highlighting the sector’s signi?cant role in the nation. He cited the rise in patients who sought health services in recent years. In 2020, this number was around 111,000. However, this ?gure climbed by 37 percent to 152,000 in 2021, and even further to 192,000 in 2022.
