Renaissance Arts Academy Advocacy Project

Our goal is to increase the number of students enrolled in math, improve their achievement and success in math class, and ensure they are at grade level. We are implementing after-school tutoring, SPED guided study, and regular collaboration among staff and students.

  2. Advocacy Project Goal(s) • Increase # of students enrolled in math. • Increase # of students at grade level in math. • Improve student’s level of achievement & success in math class.

  3. Problem Summary and Baseline Data • Too many students were not enrolled in math and when they were, they were below grade level. Students also have low math achievement and success in math class. • Low % Passing with C or better • Increasing % with No Math over grades 9-12 • Significant % Below Grade Level

  6. Results So FarShow Current Data • Math enrollment: 100% of 9th&10th, 92% of 11th, 69% of 12th graders • Students @ grade level: 91% of 9th, 35% of 10th, 16% of 11th, & 0% of 12th • 52% Satisfactory & 48% Unsatisfactory Grades

  11. Next Steps • Continue requiring math enrollment for students until they meet CIM or pass Geometry. • Refine SES plan for academically supporting struggling math students. • Master schedule to reflect new grad requirements.
