  2. Objectives 1. Use GEM material to identify modifying genes that work with the amylose-extender allele (ae) to elevate starch amylose levels to >70%. 2. Backcross identified modifying genes back into other high-yielding GEM material. 3. Identify and test technologies for rapid screening of germplasm and characterization of novel starches
