You may go through surgery at some point in time. However, remember one option doesn’t fit all! The same goes for the breast cancer surgery treatment option. Here, we’re discussing3 different surgeries that can help to treat early breast cancer- Lumpectomy: This surgery is intended to remove the cancer area in the breast. Your surgeon will remove cancer or tumour along with some breast tissues surrounding it. But remember this treatment works on radiation that’s why you need to be very careful about it. While, this treatment is effective to treat the early-stage breast cancer, but for intense cancer, it will not work. Mastectomy: If the cancer is more invasive in nature then mastectomy is used. This surgery option is more powerful compared to lumpectomy in the sense that the whole breast has to be removed from the body. The surgeon will remove the whole breast, including the nipples in the procedure; so, to be sure of getting rid of all cancerous cells. Breast Lump Removal Surgery: What if the cancer cells have spread to the lymph nodes that are close to the breast? It’s important to know if there are any cancer cells in the lymph nodes so to treat them quickly. This will help your surgeon to decide whether to go for breast lump removal surgery or not. If your surgeon found any cancer cells around the lymph nodes then they will remove most or all of the nodes under your arm. Although, you might find it difficult to grasp each and every detail, having a bit of knowledge about surgery treatments can help you to make an informed and wise decision about your life.
