  2. Parkridge School For The Arts in Corona • The school appears to be very neat and well taken care of. • Parkridge serves a population of 1,100 students • Students are bussed to school.

  3. Empty Field • The empty field is on the side of the school. • Weeds were cut and maintained.

  4. Neighborhood20% of student population comes fromthis part of the neighborhood. • The front of the school are single family homes. • The back of the school are well-maintained apartment buildings.

  5. Nearby Businesses • Evidence of re-construction of big name retail industry. For example: Walgreens, Mervyns, Smart & Final. • Other businesses around the school are a K-mart and a Re-max agency.

  6. Near by Office Buildings • This office building is by the side of the school and it is a truck loading company.

  7. Neighborhood – Apartment Buildings • Buildings are run down. • They are not well taken care of. • The lawns are dry. • No evidence of play grounds. • The street was full of cars. • People were standing outside and watching the neighborhood.

  8. Neighborhood – Apartment Buildings • The streets have potholes. • The swimming pool is empty.

  9. Neighborhood – More Apartment Buildings • Crossing the street from the run down apartment buildings are gated apartment buildings. • Some of the students from the school sneak in this facility to use their swimming pool.

  10. Small Businesses • Lower economic status retail stores that are closer to the apartment buildings. • For example : Hostess Thrift store and a liquor store.

  11. Assembly Hall • The only religious affiliation near by – the Jehova Witness Assembly Hall. • This means that most of the community has to go out of the neighborhood to worship.

  12. Non-Profit Organization- Unemployment office • The only non-profit organization in this neighborhood was the unemployment office.

  13. Conclusion • No evidence of a park. • The Edwards Theater was the only recreational outlet in the neighborhood. • The indoor swap-meet is across the street from the theaters.
